About Marios

Kia Ora, Marios here. Since the day I got here over 20 years ago, I have not stopped exploring.
With boots laced up, pen, paper and camera in my backpack, I have ventured up the nooks and crannies. It has also been a privilege to meet some extraordinary locals and research the snippets of history that give depth to the landscape.
It’s now a pleasure to share the best of these experiences with you - to help make your travels in Aotearoa/New Zealand all the richer.
The walks selected here are not your average shallow ‘copy and paste’ from the internet.
They are selected from my experiences and for their variety. Some you will know from your own research. Many you will not. Treat the selection like a degustation menu. There’s tastes of geological power, botanical beauty, pioneer heartache and Maori spirit. Some places you may have to yourself, others you will share. But all will leave you with a deeper appreciation of these beautiful islands.
